DENVER COMMUNITY KEEPS INDEPENDENT VOICES ALIVE
(Denver, CO) December 2014, The Open Media Foundation would like to humbly thank all those who were able to participate in their yearly fundraiser, the Independent Voices Celebration. Without the assistance of the Denver community, OMF would not be able to pursue their goals of empowering all demographics by providing them a voice in the new media conversation.
The event was able to raise nearly $10,000 that will allow OMF to invest further in the media services, training, and tools it provides. Sponsors from around Colorado donated silent auction items and food that assured the evening to be a resounding success. The entertainment provided kept the party going with appearances by musicians Sorcha Richardson and Miss America by Wheary, as well as comedian Ben Kronberg.
Liz, Wurster, member relations manager for OMF, saw the impact of the event, “It was such a pleasure to manage this event! It was rewarding to witness so many dedicated and passionate people and organizations come together to support community media and ensure that the entire community have access to the services, tools, and education in order to get their voices heard.”
While this yearly celebration is a major fundraising event for OMF, supporters who would like to contribute to their efforts don’t have to wait another year before they can make a difference.
