OPEN MEDIA FOUNDATION INTERNSHIPS, MORE THAN JUST EXPERIENCE. INTERNSHIP SPOTLIGHT: MICHAEL BLISS
(Denver, CO) January 2015, The Open Media Foundation (OMF), as well as its subsidiary Denver Open Media (DOM), currently offer a large variety of internship and volunteer opportunities that translate to more than just practical experience for many of those that participate. Michael Bliss, a video production intern, is one of these.
Recently completing a video production internship with Denver Open Media , Bliss reflects on what opportunities have become available to him by utilizing the skills learned through his internship with OMF.
“I now work full-time with a company that shoots commercials from around the world. I have my own production company and work with three other production companies in Denver. I have worked with todays hottest directors such as Robert Rodriquez, Quentin Tarantino, and Richard Linklater.”
It’s clear that the experience that many receive through internships at OMF is a valuable resource for other aspirational projects as well. Bliss elaborates on future ambitions: “With the experience I have gained from Denver Open Media I plan on doing a Television series called "Best Buds". Take Jay and Silent Bob meets Cheech and Chong with food and conspiracy. And a live show about the Denver Film Community.”
