Radio / Community Media Intern

Description: We are looking for a passionate intern for Open Media Foundation’s radio station. This position is for someone with an interest in learning the inner workings of a radio station, including learn how to program on a broadcast server, and schedule radio content for DOM 92.9 FM / 89.3 HD3. Radio interns will work with the Station Director to provide member services including converting audio files for radio, scheduling content for air, supporting members, participating in Radio Committees, making sure content is FCC compliant, assisting with check-ins/check-outs for audio equipment, performing nightly inventory, technical troubleshooting, and going through DOM archives to identify and convert appropriate content for radio. 

Qualifications: 

Applicants must be friendly and outgoing, have an interest in radio, production or community engagement. Candidates should also be excited about working with diverse populations and have a passion for independent production. Interns will be fully trained by staff so no prior experience in station management is required, but prior media experience and technical expertise and basic computer literacy are preferred. Interest in nonprofits and movements for social change a plus.
